Microsoft’s Copilot Studio is shaking up business workflows, enabling companies to create custom AI agents suited to their needs.

Gartner analyst Jason Wong says, “Giving users a means to develop their custom agents is an important evolution of previous tools such as Power Automate.”

While 60% of enterprises are still in the pilot stages, Microsoft hopes these 10 prebuilt agents—spanning sales, operations, and customer service—will accelerate adoption.

Copilot Studio starts at $300 per month for 25,000 agent messages, while Copilot is priced at $30 per user per month with an annual commitment.

The rise of customizable AI agents

As businesses explore generative AI, Microsoft’s new agents promise more than summarization—they will perform tasks across platforms, making work more accessible and integrated.

Microsoft’s corporate VP Bryan Goode quotes, “I feel great about the adoption… customers are eager to customize Copilot to their unique needs.”

With 50,000 organizations already trying Copilot Studio, Microsoft is banking on this momentum for widespread adoption.

Competition in the AI space

Big names like Salesforce, Zendesk, and Oracle have also introduced AI-powered agents, sparking fierce competition.

Gartner’s Wong adds, “It’s way too early to say there’s a single entry point,” hinting at the evolving landscape.

Microsoft is pushing to make Teams the central hub for productivity, but it faces stiff competition from other platforms like Slack.

AI agents for Every department

Microsoft’s new agents are heavily geared toward customer service, with 4 out of the 10 focusing on this area.

These autonomous agents don’t just offer information—they perform actions, aiming to transform departments like finance, supply chain, and field service.

Despite the excitement, enterprise-wide adoption remains early as companies evaluate these tools within their workflows.
