Spotify’s latest queue revamp offers artwork previews but ditches multi-select, sparking mixed reactions.
Spotify users have long requested a way to view song artwork in the queue, and this latest update finally delivers.
Spotted by Reddit user u/Borapay07, Spotify’s UI update displays artwork next to song names, helping users identify tracks at a glance.
This has been a highly anticipated change, especially for those who rely on visuals to recognize their favorite songs.
However, there’s a downside. The queue’s multi-select option has seemingly vanished, making it more cumbersome for users to manage their playlists.
Previously, users could mark multiple tracks to remove them all at once. Now, each song must be handled individually, which could be frustrating for those used to customizing their queues with ease.

In addition to functional tweaks, Spotify’s new queue design is bold and futuristic, with larger, more prominent UI elements.
The bottom of the screen includes shuffle, repeat, and timer options, while queued songs occupy the majority of the screen space, complete with album art, track names, and artists.
A new play/pause button at the top enhances functionality, but it seems the skip and rewind buttons have been removed.
As with most updates, this one is being rolled out incrementally, so if you haven’t received it yet, ensure your app is up to date.
While the addition of artwork is widely appreciated, the lack of a multi-select option is already stirring discussions among Spotify’s loyal users.
This Spotify’s UI update is a visual step forward, but it may leave some fans divided over the loss of practical features.
