Google Contacts app for Android has a fresh new look. It features a modern, pill-shaped scrollbar and a simplified menu for a smoother user experience.
The Google Contacts app for Android has received a stylish redesign focusing on improving user experience.
The traditional, blocky scrollbar has been replaced with a streamlined, pill-shaped version.
This new design not only makes navigation more manageable but also enhances the visual appeal of the app, providing a more enjoyable user experience.
This new design embraces Google’s Material You philosophy, which is seen in features like the Pixel Launcher’s app drawer.
It brings a cleaner and more cohesive aesthetic to the Contacts app.
In addition to the scrollbar update, Google has removed the overflow menu from the search bar.
Previously, actions like “Select all” were hidden under a drop-down menu, requiring extra taps.
Now, users can access this option simply by long-pressing on one or multiple contacts. This reduces the steps needed to complete everyday tasks, making the app more efficient and user-friendly.

The refreshed Google Contacts app will roll out gradually to users as a server-side update.
If you’re eager to experience the changes, we encourage you to check for updates on the Play Store or try force-closing the app to prompt the update.
This redesign marks another step in Google’s commitment to a more seamless and visually unified Android experience. Each update aligns closer to its Material You design standards.
