SandboxAQ’s Large Quantitative Models (LQMs) debut on Google Cloud, marking a significant step for quantum AI in enterprise solutions.
SandboxAQ, a quantum computing startup spun off from Alphabet in 2022, has made its Large Quantitative Models (LQMs) available on Google Cloud.
These advanced AI models specialize in handling extensive numerical datasets, performing intricate calculations, and powering statistical analysis for industries like life sciences, financial services, and navigation.
CEO Jack Hidary remarked, “More than 80% of the economy is run by math and quantitative relationships. That’s where quantitative AI shines, complementing language models.”
The availability of LQMs on Google Cloud simplifies enterprise adoption, allowing businesses to develop, deploy, and scale complex financial models or automate trading strategies.
This is the first time SandboxAQ has partnered with a third-party platform, reflecting its intent to expand its footprint and reach a broader customer base.
This collaboration underscores Google’s growing commitment to quantum computing.
In December, the company announced a breakthrough in quantum chip development, addressing a significant hurdle in the field.
Meanwhile, Microsoft recently launched its “Quantum Ready” program, and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang suggested practical quantum computing might still be two decades away.
Last month, SandboxAQ raised $300 million, boosting its valuation to $5.6 billion.
Notable investors include Fred Alger Management, T. Rowe Price, and Breyer Capital, a testament to the rising confidence in the potential of quantum AI.
The partnership between SandboxAQ and Google Cloud marks a transformative moment for quantitative AI.
While competitors explore varied strategies and timelines, the rapid advancements in this sector are a clear indicator that quantum computing is no longer just theoretical but poised to reshape industries globally.
